BewellConnect and Previta Announce Partnership

Press Releases

Research will focus on heart failure patients to demonstrate efficacy of remote monitoring

BewellConnect Corp, a connected health services and devices company, today announced a new partnership with Previta, a leader of remote medical care in Mexico. Under the partnership agreement, BewellConnect® and Previta will remotely monitor patients suffering from heart failure to demonstrate the efficacy of new devices and protocols, as well as the economic implications of this approach. “Remote monitoring opens up a wealth of opportunities for patients to receive a greater continuum of care, regardless of where they’re located. This is the driving force behind our products and services at BewellConnect,” said Olivier Hua, CEO of BewellConnect. “We look forward to working with Previta to demonstrate how remote monitoring can shift the focus to prevention and actually lead to better collaboration between patients and their physicians.”

The first iteration of the study will provide a cohort of heart failure patients with a set of medical devices and monitoring protocols, including MyScale Analyzer, BewellConnect’s connected and intelligent impedance meter, and follow their progress during a seven-month period. The objective of the study is to demonstrate the economic value of setting up remote monitoring of chronic patients. The 7-month follow up will be conducted by Instituto Mexicano dal Seguro Social (IMSS), the largest social welfare society in Latin America, which covers approximately 60 million insured persons. A third-party, internationally renowned audit firm will oversee the analysis.

Potential of more than 5,000 patients over 24 months.
If the outcomes of the study are successful, based solely on the parameters of heart failure, the commercial potential is tremendous. IMSS will be able to replicate the model and equip at least 5,000 patients in a period of 24 months.

The remote monitoring protocol is not limited to patients with heart failure. Other deployments with Previta are already underway with diabetic patients and the implementation of telemedicine solutions on smartphones. Similar to the pilot study, commercial potential is evaluated in thousands.

A partnership piloted from the Boston branch.
BewellConnect Corp is the subsidiary of VISIOMED GROUP, a company specializing in next-generation medical electronics. This agreement is the latest demonstration of the commercial potential created by the establishment of BewellConnect Corp. in the United States (Boston).
Mexico, like the United States, is a country where the number of patients with multiple chronic diseases is growing year-over-year, and offers significant development potential for BewellConnect Corp.

About BewellConnect
Much like the industry they are designed to streamline, digital health devices often remain siloed, cumbersome to use, and do not provide clear, actionable paths to better health. BewellConnect has set out to solve these challenges – not through the manufacturing of devices, but with a suite of healthcare services of which FDA-approved products are a component. The connected health devices are used to monitor patient progress and send the information back to the physician, resulting in patients who are more educated and empowered to take an active role in their healthcare. Additionally, the data-sharing helps to alleviate some of the strain on PCPs who are often overloaded and unable to gather or sort simple data from their patients. This allows both patients and physicians to monitor the data in one place, and work together to monitor and improve patient health. For more information, go to www.bewell-connect.us.
